Thunderbird Away
I hate it when applications fail to work. There you are, sitting at your laptop, and your mail client you had been using for years explodes. No reason. No new extension added. No sneezing all over your keyboard. No kids forcing foreign objects into the open ports (at least I don’t think they did…). You just open your application and the spinning wheel of death locks up your system and then crashes your app. I read the forums and saw some excellent tutorials to trouble shoot the problem, but after messing with it for a bit I said screw it, lets find something else that will allow me to access my multiple accounts from a single location; enter Thurderbird.
From the wonderful people that have brought us Firefox, Thunderbird states from their website:
“Mozilla has bolstered Thunderbird’s acclaimed security and privacy measures to ensure that your communications and identity remain safe. It’s like having your own security guard online.”
Works for me. Looking forward to messing around with it over the next week to see if I like how it communicates with all my other services. Did have a bit of a problem with getting my Address Book to work properly, but thanks to cool people online I was able to convert over and import clean and fast.
